President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)

Service Hours Spreadsheet for Troops - Click Here!

PVSA Year runs the same as the Girl Scout Year (October 1 - September 30)

Be sure to enter your hours for 2018 (October 1, 2017-September 30, 2018) by October 31, 2018 for the Service Unit to certify your hours.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging United States citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States through presidential recognition to live a life of service. The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes United States citizens and lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period – or cumulative hours over the course of a lifetime.

Anyone over the age of 5 may earn a PVSA. Children under the age of 14 may create an online account to track their hours; however the account requires a parent's email for consent. If parents do not not want their child to have an account, that's fine. Just submit their total hours to Lora Brinkman and she will enter them. The advantage to having an account is that the child can track their hours from year to year to build hours toward their lifetime award.

The following are the age groups:

·         Kids: Age 5-10

  •        Teens: Age 11-15

·         Young Adults: Individual Age 16-25

·         Adults: Individual Age 26 +

There are four levels of service awards. Each has its own separate required hours, based on the age group.
