  • 01: You may hear someone reference an 01 for a troop, this is just a short way to say Troop Leader. It's the code you are given in the system as a Troop Leader
  • 02: Assistant Leader/Co-leader -  this is just a short way to say Assistant or Co Leader. It's the code you are given in the system
  • Approved Registered Girl Scout Adult: This is an adult registered member who has completed the background check. They are approved to be in leadership roles within the troop, work cookie booths, transport girls, etc. They have not necessarily completed training to be a Leader.
  • Cookie Cupboard: Open during the Girl Scout Cookie Program, volunteers  come here to pick up additional cookies for girls to sell.
  • Council: Refers to Girl Scouts Missouri Heartland
  • GSUSA: Refer to the Girl Scouts United States of America; national level
  • GSMH :  Abbreviation for “Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland.”
  • Leader Education: short trainings offered by the Service Unit on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6pm
  • Lead Her News: Our Service Unit's monthly newsletter. It's printed for meetings and emailed out to all Leaders within a couple days of the Leader Meeting.
  • Leader Meeting: meetings for all leaders and assistant/co leaders on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm
  • MMS(Membership Marketing Specialist) Primary staff contact for volunteers. 
  • Region:  Three geographic areas within GSMH- southwest (Springfield/Joplin areas, KS, OK), central (Jefferson City area), and southeast (Dexter/Cape Girardeau areas).
  • ROSE: Online Registration system used by GSMH for Member Registration and Council event registrations
  • Service Team :  Volunteers who help coordinate Service Unit events and activities.
  • Service Team Member :  Adult volunteers who support a Service Unit, usually headed by a volunteer Service Team Manager.
  • Service Unit (SU) Geographic area - usually by county - of Girl Scout troops and members.  Columbia, MO is Service Unit 738 referred to as GSMH Service Unit 738 - Columbia, MO.
  • Service Unit Meeting:  Information and networking opportunity for volunteers, usually held monthly.
  • SWAPS :  Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere

  • Volunteer Support Coordinator (VSC): The new title for Service Unit Manager, this volunteer helps coordinate activities and communicates pertinent information to leaders in our Service Unit (and a lot of other stuff, too)
